Town Council Organizational Meeting
Wednesday, November 9, 2011
Eaton E. Smith Meeting Room – Town Hall

Minutes

Present:  Kyle Dostaler, Ted Hintz, Jr., Derek Johnson, Barbara Moore, George Pfaffenbach, Glenn Suprono and Susan Weintraub.  Also present were Acting Interim Town Manager Anne McKinney, Town Clerk Sandra Wieleba, Recording Secretary Cathy Sirois, members of the press and citizens.

Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance:  Town Clerk Sandra Wieleba called the organizational meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  All stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.  

Administer the Oath of Office:  Ms. Wieleba administered the oath of office to all members of the Town Council.

Election of Chairperson:  Ms. Wieleba opened the nominations for Chairperson.
A motion was made by Mr. Dostaler, seconded by Mr. Suprono, to nominate Susan Weintraub as Chairperson.  Voted (4-3) Mr. Hintz, Ms. Moore and Mr. Pfaffenbach against.  

Election of Vice Chairperson:  A motion was made by Mr. Dostaler, seconded by Mr. Johnson, to nominate Glenn Suprono as Vice Chairman.  Voted (7-0).

Adoption of Rules & Procedures (Robert’s Rules):  A motion was made by Mr. Suprono, seconded by Ms. Moore, to adopt Robert’s Rules of Order.  Voted (7-0).

Adoption of Regular Meeting Dates:  A motion was made by Mr. Hintz, seconded by Mr. Pfaffenbach, to adopt the 2nd and 4th Tuesday for Town Council meetings.  Voted (7-0).

Appointment of Two (2) Town Meeting Moderators:  A motion was made by Mr. Dostaler, seconded by Mr. Suprono, to postpone this item to the next regular meeting.  Voted (7-0).

Acting Interim Town Manager Comments:  Ms. McKinney congratulated the new Town Council and noted she spoke with John Weichsel who passed along his congratulations as well.  Ms. McKinney reviewed the documents that were provided to the Council members.

The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
